Pumpkins etc.

This Halloween, the caf was filled with jack o'lanterns of various designs, ranging from elaborate ghouls and witches to the clever, "boo ya ya."  Normally, these pumpkins would have caused me to think something along the lines of, "oh how cute!"  But this year, I could not help but remember the article we had read about Jack O'lanterns and early Americans.  To be particularly cheesy, I had the thought that perhaps the ring of pumpkins was meant to be some sort of a boundary between the salad and the cottage cheese.  But that would be ridiculous :)
